Home is our happy place
Duston Care believes that the "Home is our Happy Place", and that every young person deserves to be in a comfortable home environment where they can feel safe and thrive.
All basic necessities will be provided to the young people along with a welcome pack to give them a fresh start to their Independence pathway. We use a careful formulation to ensure that young people placed together are best matched to ensure that they are all comfortable with each other as they embark on their new Journey.
Duston care is a 4 bedroomed house in the Round Green area of Luton. This local community has a range of shops, cafes and other leisure facilities while being just a few minutes from Luton town, Luton University/Colleges and Luton train station.
There is 1 ground floor bedroom which is wheelchair accessible en-suite shower room. They are 3 bedrooms upstairs. Bedrooms can be decorated to suit the service user preference and are welcome to buy some of their own furniture to personalise the room. There is a dining room and aa activity room which are light and airy. Young persons are supported to prepare their own food in the communal kitchen should they wish depending on their functional abilities. We will encourage a healthy and fresh diet and prepare food daily. There is a garden at the back with sitting areas. There is Wi-Fi throughout the house.
Bedrooms
All of our bedrooms are made to feel welcoming and comfortable for our youth residence, with it being adequately furnished to provide secure storage for their personal belongings.
Kitchen
The Kitchen is equipped with all utensils and appliances to ensure everyone can prepare their own food and help make the right food choices throughout the day. To cook and learn about nutrition and learn recipes.
Dining & Activity Room
These areas in our accommodation are light and airy and where our young residents will eat meals together.
Living Room
The living room space is created in a way that the young people feel comfortable, homely and to feel that they have a happy place to be, to relax and chill.
Outdoor Garden
The Kitchen is equipped with all utensils and appliances to ensure everyone can prepare their own food and help make the right food choices throughout the day. To cook and learn about nutrition and learn recipes.
